Tripletech Ideas joins the Internet Defense League

Image via All Things D

SOPA and PIPA were only the beginning of the attack against the internet by corporate and government figures. At Tripletech Ideas, we understand this, and so we have joined WordPress. Reddit, Cheezburger, Imgur, the Electronic Frontier Foundation in joining together by being a part of the Internet Defense League in an attempt to protect the internet, so that it always wins these battles.

We simply cannot allow this to happen. The internet is a free place, and should always be. On June 29th, we will be making a very important announcement here, at the Tripletech Ideas Development Blog about a project that we hope will help in our mission to make a free web, together (that’s the just of our motto).

Hey there,
I just joined something called the Internet Defense League – and I’m hoping you will, too. I joined because it’s important to stand up against the powerful industries that are tyring hard to lock down the net. Remember SOPA and PIPA? The people who wrote them are working on more bills to censor the internet, spy on users, chill innovation and generally wreak havoc with the web.
The Internet Blackout helped kill SOPA/PIPA with nothing more than websites and individuals working together to broadcast messages and actions. The Internet Defense League uses the tactics of the Blackout, but supercharged and ready to take on anything that corrupt congresspeople and big business can throw at us.
The Internet Defense League works like this: organizers and members monitor Congress and industry for threats to internet freedom. When there’s a grave threat or unmissable opportunity, people use their websites, Twitter, Facebook or other social network accounts to display action messages about the threat and tools for taking action. When we rise up together, we’ll be impossible to ignore.
With SOPA and PIPA, internet users found a new ability to take a stand together when our rights are at stake. Our powerful protest surprised everyone, especially the congresspeople and lobbyists who wrote the bills. We made them see the internet in a new light, but they still don’t know what we’re really capable of. The next time internet freedom is threatened, we will be able to use the League to come out even stronger than we did last fall.
The Internet Defense League can be the strongest network in the fight for internet freedom – but it will only work if large numbers of people get on board. It would be great to have you standing with us.
There’s more about future threats, targets, and The League on the site. I hope you’ll join me.
Thank you. More to come on the free web, and our mission with the Internet Defense League.

Our First Acquisition: WORLD FINANCIAL MATTERS

We are incredibly pleased to announce that today, May 15th, 2012 we have acquired World Financial Matters, a news website on Financial Matters.

Austin MacPherson, who is the founder of WFN had this to say about the acquisition:

“I, feel quite honoured that Tripletech Ideas has bought World Financial Matters, [...] for I hope, that this lasting partnership will bring much mutual benefits to both Tripletech Ideas and World Financial Matters and that many people will take notice and interest in the current economic situations worldwide and how it matters for everyone.”

Kyle Stewart (President and Founder of Tripletech Ideas) will be posting his remarks, at World Financial Matters in a few hours.

We at Tripletech Ideas are excited to see how this acquisition goes.

New design of the Tripletech Ideas DEV Blog

Our Development Blog has been completely redesigned, to be a lighter, and better design for our readers.

We hope that you will enjoy the new design as you browse around the site. We will be updating the front page text, and all of our pages very soon, as well.

Thanks for following the Development Blog! We will be posting some stats from Magnae Famae’s awesome Q1 of 2012 on April 12th. The Your FAQ and 4 The Gleek will not be posted.

4 The Gleek… Say Hello!

Say hello to our newest project, 4 The Gleek, which launches in beta today. This project is all about the hit-tv-series Glee. It’s a Glee news site!

Articles have already been published, so that some content is available for you to see. Unfortunately, we are launching at a bad time. Glee is on a hiatus now, and will not be returning until April 2012. However by the end of March rumors should begin flying around the Glee world about upcoming episodes.

We recently showed you our first draft logos… which we agree weren’t very good. We have completely redesigned the logos to reflect the design of the site. You can see the new design of the logo on the left.

Our newest project is protected by a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License. All of our projects are protected by Creative Commons licences, so this isn’t big news.

An email address has been set up in the case you wish to contact 4 The Gleek… 4thegleek@gmail.com is the official email for 4 The Gleek.

4 The Gleek really needs volunteers to help run the site. News reporters, episode reviewers etc. If you have any interest in any of these volunteer jobs please contact them at 4thegleek@gmail.com.

We would like to point out that 4 The Gleek has no affiliations with Fox, Global or any other channels that air Glee.

Please leave you feedback on 4 The Gleek here or in the comments below. Thank you!

Your FAQ launches today!

Tripletech Ideas is so excited, and proud to announce Your FAQ today, the last day of February 2012. We started Your FAQ as a beta in October 2011 and it has been quite successful as a project. Therefore, we have decided to officially launch it today.

The Tripletech Ideas Public Relations Group put this article together and published it on Your FAQ this morning.

So what is Your FAQ? Your FAQ (FAQ standing for Frequently Asked Questions), is a how-to, Q&A, Information and Tips/Tricks project. Your FAQ is a great source for information of all kinds. The project was founded on October 1st, 2012 by Austin MacPherson and Kyle Stewart.

Kyle Stewart tends to write about techy things for Your FAQ and Austin MacPherson has a successful column called How did that start?, mainly about World Affairs, as he puts it.

Your FAQ will also be a reliable source for trusted downloads. We test out each product that we recommend (Example: Google Chrome). We test it out and we often give it a rating. We will also give a trusted download link. Mainly free products will be posted.

Is Your FAQ free? All Tripletech Ideas Projects are free, and are solely protected by a Creative Commons license. You are free to Share our work for non-commercial purposes, without altering or building upon our work, and you must attribute it back to us. Your FAQ is, and always will be free for all. In the future it may be supported by ads put in by us… not WordPress.

Do you have an iPad app? No. But we do have a very special exclusive to the iPad version of Your FAQ. All you need to do is open Safari and go to Your FAQ.

Do you have a Facebook page? Google+? Twitter? We do have a Facebook page here. We also have a Google+ here. We do not have a Twitter account. The link on above in our PC version is to the Tripletech Ideas Twitter.

We hope that you enjoy Your FAQ as much as we enjoyed putting it all together.

That explains Your FAQ quite well.

Last night some minor changes were made regarding Your FAQ. The biggest change is that the ‘Your Beta Thoughts’ page was removed, because the project is now out of beta.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support regarding Your FAQ. We hope it will be half as successful as Magnae Famae is today.

The Next Tripletech Ideas Project: 4 The Gleek

The 4 The Gleek header (designed by Tripletech Ideas)

One of our projects that we have lined up for 2012 is being previewed today.

4 The Gleek is an unofficial Glee (The TV Series) news source. We are very excited to launch this project. We hope to launch the beta in the coming weeks and the official launch in the second quarter.

We have launched a Facebook Page and the logo has been unveiled as well (see it on the left).

4 the Gleek is currently ‘locked-up’ to the public, but will be launched here. A lucky few people will gain access to 4 The Gleek in advanced you can email us at 4thegleek@gmail.com.

We are also looking for some volunteer reporters, please email us at the same address with basic info and we will get back to you ASAP. We really need volunteer reporters for:

  • Episode-Review (Must be able to have the review done after no more than 5 days since the episode’s air date)
  • Spoiler Articles
  • Glee News
  • Live Episode Coverage
  • and Weekly or Monthly Glee Opinions (or every second week etc.)

We hope 4 The Gleek to be a successful project, otherwise it will not be continued into 2013.

Your FAQ: Major Update Day

Today, February 9th, 2012 has been a huge progress day for our newest project, Your FAQ. We have completely redesigned the website, as can be seen in the screenshot above.

Another thing you may notice in that screenshot is a new header. We have redesigned the logo to make it look much cleaner and simpler. You can see what we are calling the ‘full logo’ on the right. We plan to make some minor changes to the logo very soon, including cropping it. This is just a ‘draft copy’, if you will.

If you go to yourfaq.wordpress.com you may click on our twitter link, and find that it links to the Tripletech Ideas Twitter feed. We may launch an official Your FAQ Twitter feed once Your FAQ has completely rolled out officially. However, Your FAQ is the only Project to have its own Facebook Page, which is being linked to there.

Instead of yourfaq, we are calling it Your FAQ, just to make things a tiny bit simpler.

We invite you to explore Your FAQ, so that you can fully appreciate the upgrades we have undergone. We are calling this Your FAQ version 0.99.

But before you stop reading… we hope to officially launch Your FAQ on February 29th, 2012. We already have a countdown set at Your FAQ! We at Tripletech Ideas are all extremely excited for the big day!

Thanks so much for your patience and enthusiasm,

A Year of Magnae Famae

Today, January 8th, 2012 is the one-year anniversary since the Magnae Famae Project (originally No.bilem) began with Luc Moulaison, Sophie Moulaison and Kyle Stewart.

Magnae Famae put together an article they call Magnae Famae: A History… below is an excerpt.

Today is the One-Year Anniversary of the Magnae Famae Project starting. The project was officially launched to the public on January 11th, 2011.

I started off 2011 by working on a Brand new project with Luc and Sophie Moulaison.  At first we called the project No.bilem, but then changed it to Magnae Famae thanks to the guidance of Jane Barter Moulaison. The project would be a news website and would replace the existing Kyle File Blog after Luc made this comment to me:

“…I also think I know one reason why The Kyle File isn’t succeeding very well. Maybe you should rename it. It’s kinda like Mark Zuckerburg calling Facebook “The Mark Book” or Steve Jobs calling the iPod the “The StevePod”. Maybe it isn’t working.”

-Magnae Famae’s Kyle Stewart

You can read the entire article here.

Happy One-Year Anniversary, MF!

New Magnae Famae and T.T.I. Facebook Logos

We have finally finished designing our Tripletech Ideas Facebook Page Profile Picture, with the update for yourfaq. We put it up on our Facebook Page at apr. 10:20PM on December 13th, 2011. It can be seen on the left. You can ‘like’ our official Facebook page here. This logo will be changed in January 2012, because it is Holiday-themed.

And now we have our official 2012 logo for Magnae Famae! This is the logo, based off of the original design in January 2011 by Luc Moulaison, that we plan to use this upcoming year. The logo has been themed with the Tripletech Ideas theme of the year… 2012: A Year to Move Forward. We hope that you like our new Magnae Famae logo!

Happy Holidays,

TRIPLETECH IDEAS PRESS RELEASE- Our new project is finally ready to be unveiled.

yourfaq.

yourfaq is a free question, tips, tricks, and review service for all. Currently we only have Tech how-tos but we are interested in getting some more volunteers to write how-tos and reviews for other subjects as well. The thing that makes our service different is that this is mainly around free stuff, not things you need to buy.

For the past few months we have been writing articles so that we would be ready for the launch. We had planned to launch the beta on November 12th, but we couldn’t because some concerns came up.

yourfaq is currently run by Austin MacPherson and Kyle Stewart, but we are looking for some more volunteers! Email us with you name, age, and why you should help us out at info.yourfaq@gmail.com.

You can check out what we have and more at yourfaq!
