Magnae Famae 4 #MF4

Magnae Famae 4, is a redesigned, re-branded Magnae Famae, that launched on January 9th, 2013.

The design is a simple, easy to use/easy to figure out design. It is also Responsive, which means that it looks the same on all devices (except on the iPad, because of our special iPad version for Safari). Whether your reading MF on your laptop, or your smart phone, it looks the same!

The primary purpose of the redesign is to allow for easier access to content, and to create a more professional look.

Enjoy!

Welcome to Tripletech Ideas and Magnae Famae, Jordan!

We regret to announce…

We have some disappointing news to share today.

We started the Your FAQ Beta on November 18th, pulling in a significant amount of traction, that we decided to pull out of the beat and officially launch Your FAQ as a Tripletech Ideas project.

Unfortunately, Your FAQ’s days are coming to a close.  We regret very much t announce that we are going to stop updating Your FAQ on June 29th, 2012. The stats we were getting were simply too difficult to justify keeping Your FAQ.

We are definitely not going to be completely killing off Your FAQ.

Your FAQ’s purpose was mainly to be a how-to blog. It eventually turned into a blog for basically everything except news (which, admittedly was one of the mistakes we made with Your FAQ).

Magnae Famae has plans to create a new how-to column, and How Did that Start column on Current Events.

We will not be continuing This Day in History, however World Financial Matters is debating the idea of doing a This Day in Financial History column.

Magnae Famae, our flagship project, is the place where we want everyone to go. We want to avoid fragmentation (such as we did, mistakenly with 4 The Gleek).

Over the period of a few months, we believe we will combine Your FAQ, 4 The Gleek and World Financial Matters*  into Magnae Famae, along with what already exists at Magnae Famae. This is simply to make things easier for our readers.

Thank you to all of the Your FAQ supporters. This does give us room to launch another project, possibly later this summer.

Tripletech Ideas Public Relations

*We are debating whether or not to join World Financial Matter with Magnae Famae. Firstly, we want to see how it does.

Why am I seeing Ads around Magnae Famae?

You may be asking “Why am I seeing Ads around Magnae Famae, now?”

Good question.

As Magnae Famae becomes more successful, it becomes more expensive to do. It has come to a point now, where we need to start placing ads around Magnae Famae, so that we can pull in some revenue.

Unlike other websites, we are working with a great advertising agency, which allows us to place great, and appropriate ads on Magnae Famae.

So far, ads are only placed at the end of our articles. We think this is an optimal place for these ads to be located. (We understand that not too many people look at the sidebar!)

All though we cannot ask you to click on the ad (which pulls in revenue for us), feel free to click on the ads, if you see something interesting. These are not spam or viruses. Also, please do not click repetitively on the ads, as well, should you see an ad you would like to know more about.

If you don’t want to see the ads- ignore them.

Thanks!

Magnae Famae Q1 2012

As we normally do, we are posting Magnae Famae’s Quarterly Stats here. We won’t be getting into numbers, only into growth.

Q1 2012

First up is the monthly stats, which can be seen on the right.. The first bar contains March 2012′s results, the second is for February 2012 and the final bar is for March 2012.

Q1 2011

We will compare this Quarter to our first ever Q1 which was when Magnae Famae was launched. This stats can be seen on the left, and are to the same scale as the results on the right. As you can see this Quarter was much more successful.

We wish to tell you that as of April 9th, 2012, only 9 days into April… We are already into our most successful month ever. We are very pleased, as we jump from hundreds of views/per month to thousands! We can only hope for even better results as time goes by.

Thanks to everyone!

New ads developed for Your FAQ and 4 The Gleek

We have developed some new ads for Your FAQ and 4 The Gleek.

These ads are only displayed on other projects from Tripletech Ideas, we currently don’t advertise elsewhere.

The 4 The Gleek ad was developed in Paint.NET and GIMP. The ad is currently displayed at both Magnae Famae and at Your FAQ.

The Your FAQ ad is replacing an older version. This new version was made to better descirbe what Your FAQ’s main idea is. The ad was put together in GIMP. The ad is currently on display at Magnae Famae and at 4 The Gleek.

A ad for Magnae Famae is currently in the works. What do you think of the ads? Leave a comment below.

Updates to iPad Editions of Magnae Famae, Your FAQ, 4 The Gleek

We have updated the iPad editions Magnae Famae and Your FAQ, and we have launched the iPad Edition of 4 The Gleek.

The updated editions of Magnae Famae and Your FAQ for iPad, mainly have color changes, no major layout changes have been made.

The 4 The Gleek iPad Edition looks similar to the other iPad editions we have. The only difference is content and colors.  You can see screen shot of the new iPad editions below. To access them on your iPad simply open Safari and go to Magnae Famae or Your FAQ or 4 The Gleek!

The Official Closing of The Kyle File

The Kyle File 4.0's logo, designed by Kyle Stewart, however the 4.0 coding and design was done by Paula Gammon.

Today we are closing up The Kyle File, which was the project that started Tripletech Ideas.

Hello to all Kyle File people.

The Kyle File was really a great experience. It honestly was the beginning of a great mission, that we didn’t even realize we were starting. We have moved on, and we hope you will as well.

The Kyle File helped to create The Kyle File Media- which turned into Tripletech Ideas, which still exists today and is at its all-time-high.

Tripletech Ideas has launched two very successful projects. Magnae Famae, a news blog and Your FAQ, which is only in beta and is already doing very well.

Magnae Famae is by far the most successful project we have launched. It was Preceded by The Kyle File Blog. However Your FAQ is a completely new project.

We have launched a social network with a completely new idea, a Questions and Answers website, a news website, a podcast network and quite a few other projects all because of The Kyle File.

Thanks to all of the dedicated people who have been watching us since The Kyle File began.

We hope you will join us as we continue our ‘mission’ into other projects.

It is with great sadness that I officially announced that for the time being we have no plans whatsoever to launch a successor to The Kyle File, which we feel was a unique website. And today, February 15th, 2012 we are closing up The Kyle File.

I would like to personally thank Emily Stewart, Luc Moulaison, Sophie Moulaison and Paula Gammon for their work on The Kyle File.

Thank you all so much!

-Kyle Stewart
CEO and Founder of Tripletech Ideas

We stopped updating The Kyle File on October 9th, 2010 in favor of The Kyle File Blog.

You can see the announcement here at The Kyle File as well.

Thank you!

Kyle Stewart will be live-blogging the Opening and Closing Ceremonies on Magnae Famae Live. He also may cover a few major sports and coverage leading up to the games.

A Magnae Famae: Unofficial Olympic Coverage HQ logo is in the works as well, by the DEV Team.

Your FAQ is expected to have officially launched by then and will do minor coverage leading up to the Olympics, and also do Olympic History. Your FAQ is also considering to do Sport History as well.

Enjoy the games!

SOPA: Our Position

Today, January 18th, 2012  has been a history-making day on protest against two bill going through both American legislation and Senate. Magnae Famae has taken a stand on this bill, but it’s owning organization, Tripletech Ideas has not made clear it’s position on these bills.

So, Tripletech Ideas Public Relations has put together our official position on SOPA and PIPA, below.

THE OFFICIAL POSITION OF TRIPLETECH IDEAS ON SOPA/PIPA

1) Tripletech Ideas is an unregistered Canadian not-for-profit organization.

2) We, as a not-for-profit organization feel that SOPA and PIPA will “ruin the internet as we know it worldwide.”

3) We feel that the World Wide Web (WWW hereafter) is not owned by any organization, or Government but is all owned by the content creators and by the consumers. The consumers meaning the people who use the WWW are all part-owners of the WWW. We feel that every person has a say in what Governments do to the WWW. Be it only in their own country or worldwide. Therefore, we feel that in order for this bill to pass Governement a majority of American citizens must be OK with this bill passing.

4) These bills will ruin the WWW, Tripletech Ideas Projects like the popular Magnae Famae and yourfaq, technically violate copyright laws almost every week. So do many other websites like CNET, CBC, The Verge etc. This would almost definitely cause lawsuits (which we can’t afford) and also cause our projects to be ‘blacked out’.

5) Acording to our Annual Reports the majority of our views come from America. We would lose a huge percent of our views if we are ‘blacked out’. It already costs us money to operate all of these projects. If we lose our biggest source of views, we almost certainly cannot continue. This would be the same for many other organizations and companies like Facebook, Twitter etc.

Conclusion) If these bills were to pass, we almost certainly would begin losing even more money then we already are. We would not be able to continue. Our position on SOPA/PIPA is opposing. We 100% oppose SOPA and PIPA.
